Two of Eupen’s summer transfers already surplus to requirements

Two of Eupen’s 2022 summer signings are reportedly free to leave the club in January. According to Het Nieuwsblad, central defenders Jan Kral and Jan Gorenc can leave the east Belgian side despite only moving to the Pandas in the summer.

23 year-old Slovenian defender Jan Gorenc joined from NS Mura and signed a contract until 2024. Gorenc played just 45 minutes in a humiliating 3-1 defeat at home to Seraing back in August, and has failed to make an appearance since.

Jan Kral, who is also 23 year-old, joined Eupen from Hradec Kralove in the Czech league. The Czech defender signed a contract until 2025, but has only made 7 appearances this season. He started every game up until the aforementioned defeat to Seraing. Since being taken off at half-time during that game, Kral has played just 53 minutes for Eupen.

Under new manager Will Still, Eupen got off to a winning start with a 1-0 win away to relegation rivals Seraing.
