Toulouse set to sign 20-year-old winger Ibrahim Cissoko from NEC Nijmegen

According to Fabrizio Romano, Ligue 1 side Toulouse are set to sign Ibrahim Cissoko from NEC Nijmegen. The talented 20-year-old has excelled in the Eredivisie this season, featuring 26 times as NEC finished in 12th place. Toulouse have reached an agreement with the Dutch club and the deal is expected to be over the line this week.

Born in 2003, Cissoko started his career in the NEC academy, where he scored six times in 11 games for the U18s and five times in 18 games for the U21s. This season was Cissoko’s first in the Eredivisie, and despite only scoring twice, his superb performances have attracted interest from French, Italian and English clubs.

Cissoko has chosen to join Toulouse, who finished the Ligue 1 campaign in 13th place. They also won the Coupe de France for the first time in the clubs history, beating Nantes 5-1 in the final. Toulouse have had several Dutch players in their squad this season including, Stijn Spierings, Branco van den Boomen and Thijs Dallinga. Both Van den Boomen and Spierings have left the club, but Cissoko is set to be the latest Dutchman to join the French side.
