Tottenham Hotspur target Stefan De Vrij’s agent rules out January transfer move

A January transfer move has been ruled out for Stefan De Vrij by his agent as the defender continues to explore his options for the next part of his career, Voetbal International reports.

The Inter Milan player’s contract is up in the summer and is free to speak to any club from New Year’s Day yet his agent has insisted his client is not interested in a move halfway through the season despite some attractive offers available.

De Vrij, 30, has been looked with a move to La Liga with Atletico Madrid and Premier League’s Tottenham Hotspur with a possible reunion with former Nerazzuri boss Antonio Conte in the pipeline but agent Federico Pastorello insists a decision will be made after the winter transfer window closes.

“There will be no shortage of offers. Given his age and his thoughtful character, all aspects are important,” says the representative.

“February, March is a good time to make certain choices. We are absolutely not thinking of leaving in January.”

He added: “He can play at all European top clubs with his great experience and his great tactical baggage. He is an extremely intelligent boy and you can see that on the pitch. He can play anywhere. But he is concerned with more aspects than just the contract.

“It will probably be his last major commitment. With an expiring contract you can decide for yourself whether you go for a new experience in a new country in a new competition.”

There is a still a possibility De Vrij could remain at San Siro with Inter too.
