Tottenham and Brentford set to compete to sign PSV winger Johan Bakayoko in January

According to Football Insider, Tottenham and Brentford are keen on signing PSV’s Johan Bakayoko and could compete for the winger’s signature in January. The 20-year-old Belgium international continues to impress each week under Peter Bosz.

Bakayoko has netted four times and provided 12 assists in 22 appearances across all competitions so far this season. The forward’s contributions have helped PSV maintain their 100% start to the Eredivisie, as they sit top of the table after thirteen matches. On Wednesday night, Johan Bakayoko played in every minute of PSV’s Champions League clash with Sevilla, when they came from two goals down to win 3-2.

Brentford were interested in Bakayoko last summer and were reported to have made an offer for the nine-time Belgium international. Thomas Frank’s side have revived their interest and may try to lure him to West London in January. Meanwhile, Tottenham are looking to add an extra forward option in the new year and have Bakayoko on their shortlist.

Johan Bakayoko has made it clear in the past that his focus is fully on PSV Eindhoven. However, some of Europe’s biggest clubs are keeping tabs on the talented forward and a move could take place in January.
