Ahead of the Netherlands crucial World Cup qualifier against Poland, Manchester City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders spoke to the press. The midfielder, who joined the Premier League side this summer, spoke about how much he is enjoying playing in England with Manchester City. As reported by ESPN, Reijnders said โItโs great, the Premier League. Iโm still enjoying every day at Manchester Cityโ. Up until last weekend Reijnders had started every game under Pep Guardiola for Manchester City, but he isnโt concerned about the rotation that took place. As the former Milan and AZ midfielder said โIf you look at our squad, anyone could be in the starting lineupโ.
The 27-year-old has followed up his stellar 2024/2025 season in Italy with Milan with a strong start to his Manchester City career. So far he has played 18 games across all competitions, scoring once and providing five assists. Last season he played 55 games for Milan, scoring a career best 16 goals and providing four assists.
Reijnders will be a crucial player for the Dutch side should they make the World Cup next summer. They have their destiny in their own hands, with a win over Poland this week securing their spot in next years tournament. Even a draw could be enough if they beat Lithuania in their final qualifier.
