Thierry Ambrose had doubts about joining Kortrijk after 6-0 defeat

In an interview with Het Nieuwsblad, new Kortrijk signing Thierry Ambrose admitted that he did have some doubts about joining the side after they were beaten 6-0 by Antwerp last Friday night. The former Manchester City youth player had been subject of interest from Hull City earlier in the year, but decided to join Kortrijk from Oostende, who were relegated last season. During his time on the Belgian coast, Ambrose scored 15 goals in 65 games.

However, having had his doubts, Ambrose is confident that Kortrijk will have a good season. The side are heavily tipped to be one of those that finish in the bottom four and thus battle it out to avoid the drop. However, the 26-year-old believes that Kortrijk will instead make it into play-off two. The interview also revealed that he turned down moves to Poland and a lucrative offer from the Middle-East in order to stay in Belgium.
