Telstar lash out at fighting fans following play-off victory against Den Bosch: โ€œStay at home!โ€

After their second division play-off semi-final victory over FC Den Bosch was marred by on-field fan violence, Telstar have issued a statement demonstrating their disapproval, stating, โ€œStay home if you canโ€™t behave!โ€

โ€œUnfortunately, this overshadows the achievements of Anthony (Correia)โ€™s men,โ€ Telstar began in a statement online.

โ€œWe disapprove of these actions and emphatically distance ourselves from them. This is not who we are as a club. This does not belong to Telstar, it should not be like this and we will certainly not become like this.โ€

The club from IJmuiden will carefully analyse the situation in collaboration with the KNVB. Camera images will be used and appropriate actions will be taken where necessary.

โ€œStay home if you canโ€™t behave. And that goes for the entire stadium. We are in the final. That is something to be proud of together. Letโ€™s make it a party โ€“ with respect for each other โ€“ that does justice to everything we have built together this season. We have had to wait a long time for this moment. And the excesses afterwards simply do not belong there. Stop that.โ€

Next Thursday, Telstar will once again be playing at home, either against FC Dordrecht or Willem II.
