Swedish international Kerim Mrabti signs new contract with KV Mechelen

KV Mechelen have announced that Kerim Mrabti has signed a new deal at the club which will see him remain until 2026. The 29-year-old was one of the sides key performers during the 2021/2022 season when they made the play-offs. During that season he played 36 games, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists. Unfortunately, injury curtailed his 2022/2023 season, and Mechelen suffered as a result. He only managed 12 league appearances last season, scoring once and providing two assists.

The club revealed that Mrabti had offers from other clubs, but decided to remain with Mechelen instead.

Mrabti began his career in Sweden, playing for the likes of Sirius and Djurgarden. During his time in Stockholm he made 93 appearances and scored 22 goals between 2015 and 2018. His form for the side earned him a move to Birmingham City for the 2019/2020 season. Mrabti joined on a free and scored three goals in 29 games. After one season he joined Mechelen, also on a free.
