According to Fabrizio Romano, Swansea City’s Dutch striker Joël Piroe is set to undergo medical tests before signing for Leeds United. A deal has been agreed between the two Championship sides and Piroe is expected to be a Leeds player by the end of the week.
It was always going to be a difficult task for Swansea to keep hold of their star man this summer. Over the last two seasons the 24-year-old has scored 41 Championship goals in 88 appearances, making hot property in the transfer market. Several other sides including Leicester City, Everton and Southampton have all shown interest in the former PSV and Netherlands youth international, but it appears that Leeds have won the race.
Leeds are looking to bounce straight back up to the Premier League following a disappointing campaign last season. So far this season, they’re yet to win a Championship game under new head coach Daniel Farke. The signing of Joël Piroe could be an excellent addition as they aim to add more firepower to the squad.
