Voetbalkrant are reporting that Sunderland are interested in bringing in Anderlecht youth talent Lucas Stassin in January. Stassin has played the majority of the season for Anderlecht Futures in the Challenger Pro League, with 11 goals in 16 matches. This form saw him included in first team squads during the first half of the season, with the 18 year old making his first team debut against Club Brugge.
Stassin is under contract at Anderlecht until 2024, so it unlikely that the club will allow him to go on the cheap.
Sunderland are just a point outside of the play-offs in the Championship and are on good form, with just one loss in their previous five matches.
Anderlecht are looking to bolster their attack in January as well, with the hope that they can release Sebastiano Esposito back to Inter in the winter transfer window to free up squad space for new arrivals.
