Stef Peeters doesn’t hold back on Eupen teammates following heavy defeat to Cercle Brugge

Following Eupen’s 5-1 hammering by Cercle Brugge on Saturday midfielder Stef Peeters was clearly far from impressed with the performance of his teammates. In an interview with Sporza, Peeters had a scathing remark about the lack of fight his side had shown. “Everyone has to decide for themselves whether they are doing enough to keep the club in the first division”.

Peeters was also critical of the training levels of some of the Eupen players, stating “You have to do the right things every day and that is apparently a problem. For many players it already appears to be difficult to perform in training every day”. The midfielders comments come after the side has been handed two heavy defeats in a row, with last weekends 4-0 defeat at home to Gent.

Eupen currently sit second bottom in the Pro League, with just one win in their last five matches. Their next two matches are against OH Leuven and KV Mechelen.
