Sparta Rotterdam will listen to ‘interesting’ enquiries for Joshua Kitolano

Speaking during their training camp in Spain, Sparta Rotterdam technical director Gerard Nijkamp was asked about the possibility of a transfer for highly rated Norwegian midfielder Joshua Kitolano. ESPN reported that Nijkamp stated that there was currently no concrete interest in 22-year-old Kitolano. However, he did then go on to say that they would not close the door to any ‘interesting’ enquiries for the midfielder, presumably one that would meet or exceed their valuation of the player. Anything else is likely to be turned down, as Nijkamp said the club do not want to waste any time during the January transfer window.

So far this season the midfielder has scored four goals and provided one assist in 16 Eredivisie matches for Sparta Rotterdam. The Norwegian youth international came through at ODD, where he played 113 games and scored seven goals. The highly rated youngster joined Sparta Rotterdam in the summer of 2022. During his first season he started 29 of his 34 appearances, scoring four goals and providing one assist in the Eredivisie.
