Sparta Rotterdam striker eyeing summer move after failed Serie A switch

Sparta Rotterdam forward has Tobias Lauritsen has spoken to VI about his desire to leave the club in the summer. On deadline day a move to Serie A and Hellas Verona failed to materialise, with the striker admitting that he was keen on the move to Italy. However, he also understands that Sparta could ill afford to let him leave and he is now focused on finishing the season with the club.

Yet he is now also looking into leaving the Eredisivie in the summer. Hellas Verona may well return in a few months time to try and bring him in, as he has now clearly expressed interest in moving to Italy for the 2024/2025 season. However, other clubs may also be on alert given the striker’s indication that he will be leaving the club. His current contract at Sparta runs until 2025, so the club should gain financially from the transfer.

The 26-year-old has scored five goals and provided five assists in the Eredivisie this season.
