Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that winger Samuel Edozie has asked Southampton to accept the offer of €8m from Club Brugge for him. The wide man spent last season on loan in the Belgian Pro League with Anderlecht and is keen to make the move back to Belgium, this time to join up with Club. However, the Saints are asking for an increased fee of €10m. This should be considered a price too high for Club, as while Edozie did have some bright moments, he is not worth that much of an outlay at this moment.
The 22-year-old former Manchester City man joined Southampton in 2022 and went on to play 63 times for the side, scoring six goals and grabbing three assists. Edozie fell out of favour at Southampton last season, making just three appearances before joining Anderlecht on loan. During his time with the Mauves, Edozie played 32 times, scoring four goals and providing four assists. Clearly Club were impressed by the 22-year-old and are in talks with Southampton for his signature. They will be hoping that, with Edozie putting pressure on Southampton to accept their current offer, a deal can be struck.
However, Club are also said to be looking at other options out wide, and difficulties in negotiations with Southampton could see them turn their attention elsewhere.
