According to Het Nieuwsblad, both Atlético de Madrid and Southampton are interested in Club Brugge’s Tajon Buchanan. The versatile Canadian international can play as either a full-back or an out and out winger and has been the subject of interest from Inter throughout the transfer window. It has been widely known that Buchanan is interested in either playing Champions League football again, or ending up in the Premier League. Should Club Brugge agree a fee with either club, the Canadian will have to decide which of these has a higher priority, and whether or not moving to Southampton will end up in a return to the Premier League for the Saints.
The 24-year-old joined Club Brugge in January 2022 from New England Revolution, where he played 67 games and scored 12 goals. Since joining the side, he has played 56 games and scored five goals alongside five assists. Two of these assists came during the sides Champions League campaign last season, while he has scored two goals in four games so far this season.
