Sofian Kiyine’s father: He cries at the thought that children could have died

OH Leuven midfielder Sofian Kiyine was involved in a near tragic incident last week when he crashed into a sports hall. Thankfully, no one was hurt other than the midfielder who has already been discharged from hospital. The video of the incident shows the car driven by Kiyine speeding a long the road near the hall before coming off at a roundabout and plowing into the sports hall. There had been a group of children using the hall at the time, but all of them had gone back to the changing rooms when the incident took place.

Now the players father has spoken out, as reported by Het Nieuwsblad, on the incident involving his son. He realizes that a miracle has happened. Not just for him, but for everyone in the gym. He cries at the thought that children could have died” the players father, Radouane Kiyine, said.

Radouane also said “It is inconceivable. Sofian is a nice, quiet boy. He is not a speed demon on the road, does not use drugs and hardly ever drinks alcohol”. An investigation is ongoing, and so far the player has been suspended by the club pending the outcome of the investigation.

The former Lazio midfielder joined the club in the summer for an undisclosed fee and has made 21 appearances, scoring twice and providing two assists.
