Sint Truiden confirm the return of Belgian attacker from Feyenoord

Sint Truiden have confirmed the signing of 23-year-old attacker Ilias Sebaoui from Eredivisie side Feyenoord. The 23-year-old will wear the number 10 shirt for the Canaries and has signed a contract for four seasons with the Pro League side. Sebaoui leaves the Netherlands and Feyenoord without having made an appearance for the side. The fee agreed between the Belgian side and Feyenoord is reported to be just โ‚ฌ1m, with around 10% going to Beerschot.

During his time in Dutch football Sebaoui spent two seasons out on loan, the first with FC Dordrecht in the second tier and then the second in the Eredivisie with SC Heerenveen. At Dordrecht, Sebaoui was a great success. In 42 games for the side he scored 11 goals and provided six assists. He struggled to replicate that form in the higher division, with just four goals in 33 games for Heerenveen.

It was in the Pro League that Sebaoui really burst onto the scene as a teenager. His 12 appearances for Beerschot during the 2021/2022 season raised eyebrows and he was expected to have a successful career. Sint Truiden give him a great chance to return to Belgium a more experienced player. Under Wouter Vrancken, fans of the Canaries hope he can realise the promise he showed with Beerschot as a teenager.
