Scott Parker set to persist with Noa Lang as a central striker ahead of Roman Yaremchuk

Speaking ahead of their clash with Union Saint Gilloise, Club Brugge head coach Scott Parker was asked about his decision to play Noa Lang as a central striker. As reported by Sporza, the English head coach praised Lang’s performance in the role against Antwerp. Parker said “Noa has different qualities than our other strikers. He creates a lot of danger for himself and the rest of the team”.

Despite being able to call on the clubs record signing Roman Yaremchuk, Parker’s comments indicate that he will be sticking with Lang in the central striker role while Feran Jutgla remains absent through injury. Ukrainian striker Yaremchuk has struggled to find form since his big money move in the summer from Benfica, with just two goals to his name. The former Gent man has also provided two assists in his 15 games, but looks a shadow of the player who scored for fun for the Buffaloes.

After their game against Union Club Brugge will face Yaremchuk’s former team Benfica in the first leg of their Champions League knock-out tie. While Jutgla remains a doubt, it is also feared that Andreas Skov Olsen will be missing through injury.
