Scott Parker set to be announced as Club Brugge manager this weekend

Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that a deal to bring in Scott Parker as the new Club Brugge head coach could be completed as soon as this weekend. Parker appears to have agreed a deal to take over from Carl Hoefkens, following the latters departure after a 1-1 draw with Sint-Truiden.

Pressure had been mounting on Hoefkens following an inconsistent domestic season, with his success in the Champions League not being enough to save him.

Former Chelsea and Tottenham midfielder Parker began his managerial career with Fulham in 2019. He was unable to save the side from relegation, but did guide them straight back into the Premier League the following season. He was unable to keep them in the Premier league and was sacked at the end of the 2020/2021 season.

The former England international then took over at Bournemouth, guiding them to promotion in the 2021/2022 season. Parker only managed the club until August when he was replaced by Gary O’Neil.
