Jerdy Schouten and Malik Tillman on track to return for PSV-Ajax clash

Jerdy Schouten and Malik Tillman are both on schedule to be part of the PSV selection for their match against league leaders Ajax on Sunday, De Telegraaf writes.

This morning, the paper reported that both were back in Peter Bosz’s thoughts for the meeting in Eindhoven. Schouten had to drop out of the away match against RKC Waalwijk and the two-match series with the Dutch national team a week and a half ago due to persistent toe and knee complaints.

Schouten has now resumed training after a period of rest and the first signals are positive about his availability on Sunday. The same applies to Malik Tillman, who has recovered from an ankle injury faster than expected. The American midfielder already played one half in a practice match behind closed doors against FC Den Bosch at the end of last week.

Peter Bosz will be hoping that Mauro Junior can also rejoin the squad for this important game in which PSV hope to reduce the gap to leader Ajax from six to three points. He was also absent against RKC.

Ricardo Pepi and Lucas Perez will definitely not be in the game on Sunday. Pepi is out for the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery while Perez has been diagnosed with active tuberculosis.

This forces him to isolate for three to four weeks before training can resume due to the antibiotics he has to take. In all probability, the Spaniard, who has only played 24 minutes so far this season, will not play for PSV again.
