RWDM v Kortrijk Preview | John Textor’s side looking to get back on track against struggling Kortrijk

RWDM host Kortrijk on Saturday afternoon hoping to grab their first win in six league games. Their last victory was a 2-1 win at home over high flying Cercle Brugge. However, they have picked up just three points since, with defeats to Union St Gilloise, Charleroi and Sint-Truiden.

Kortrijk looked to have turned a corner after wins over Cercle Brugge and Club Brugge, but those wins have been overshadowed by defeats to fellow strugglers Westerlo and at home to Genk. Cardiff City loanee Isaak Davies is leading the side in terms of goals, with three in eight games. However, the side have struggled to score this season, with nine goals from 12 games. They have also conceded 25 goals in that time.

RWDM are being led by their new summer signing Makhtar Gueye, who has six goals in 10 games. Last season the striker failed to score in 22 games for LaLiga2 side Real Zaragoza, where he was on loan at from Oostende. Former OH Leuven creative midfielder Xavier Mercier has the most assists for the side with three in 10 games.

Defeat to Kortrijk would see real pressure on Claudio Cacapa as head coach, as well as club President John Textor who is already unpopular with the clubs fanbase.
