Het Nieuwsblad have revealed that RWDM have cancelled the loan of Soufiane Benjdida with immediate effect for an incredible reason. The striker, who was on loan at the club from Pro League side Standard Liege, has been sent back to his parent club after punching a teammate. The incident took place after the sides recent match with Patro Eisden. The player on the end of Benjdida’s fist was Achraf Laâziri, who was reportedly seen leaving the changing room with an ice pack on his jaw.
This isn’t the first time that Laâziri has been involved with a teammate at the club. Earlier in the season he was said to have had a public falling out with David Sousa, although that has been resolved. Moroccan striker Benjdida started the season with the Standard senior side and did reasonably well, scoring twice and grabbing an assist. However, the signings of both Andi Zeqiri and Dennis Eckert on loan saw his minutes reduced. In his now brief spell with promotion chasing RWDM, the 23-year-old played 10 matches, scoring once.
