Ruud van Nistelrooy feels PSV are making ‘giant steps’

Ruud van Nistelrooy feels that PSV are making “giant steps,” despite their recent run of poor results.

After an excellent start to their first under Van Nistelrooy, things have gone wrong for the side in recent weeks with them losing to Rangers and FC Twente and drawing to Bodo/Glimt.

While they have had bad some bad luck with Luuk de Jong getting injured, the performances have been concerning nonetheless.

Despite that though, the manager feels they are making good progress.

“I look broader than the games against Rangers and FC Twente,” he said at the press conference after the match against Bodo/Glimt.

“We have played a total of eleven games and lost twice. We started with a whole new team. We play with a lot of young guys too.

“I look at the development of us as a whole. I also look at the beginning of the pre-season. If you take the game against Arminia (a 4-0 loss) as a reference, for example, we make giant steps.”
