Ron Jans wonโ€™t resign from struggling Utrecht

With five defeats in a row in all competitions, Utrecht are struggling. After a return to European football last season, their form in the Eredivisie has taken a dip. To make matters worse for Ron Jans, the side have only won once in their past 12 games. Yet, as reported by VI, the sides head coach is not thinking of resigning from his role as the clubs head coach. The 1-0 defeat to Sparta Rotterdam at the weekend means that Utrecht have slipped to 11th in the Eredivisie, with 23 points from 19 games.

Jans has been in charge of Utrecht since taking over during the 2023/2024 season. Jans has been in charge of Utrecht for 106 games, winning 48, drawing 28 and losing 30. Their fourth placed finish during the 2024/2025 season was the best that the club has achieved since the 2016/2017 season. However, they have been a play-off team since 2015/2016 and look like that run could be ending this year. There is currently a seven point gap between Utrecht in 11th and FC Twente in 8th. Next up for Jans and Utrecht is a clash with Heerenveen, a side who sit just above them in 10th.
