Things arenโt going great for Robin van Persie at Feyenoord. Despite a fantastic start to the season, things have unravelled in Rotterdam. Just this past weekend the side succumbed to a dramatic 4-3 defeat at home to city rivals Sparta. That means the side have now gone six games without a win in all competitions and are seeing PSV stretch their lead at the top of the Eredivisie.
There had been rumours circulating that this latest defeat would be the end of the road for club legend van Persie. However, ESPN has revealed that despite the result, the head coach will remain in charge of the club for the time being. Players donโt seem to be happy, with Quinten Timber speaking out against his head coach after the match. Thankfully for van Persie, Timber is set to leave the club this month to join Marseille.
At one moment it looked like his son would save the day. Shaqueel van Persie scored two fantastic goals against Sparta, but they ended up being in vein. Next up for van Persie senior is a Europa League clash with Sturm Graz. With just two games to go, Feyenoord are on the outside looking in and it is very unlikely that van Persie and co will make the next round.
