Roberto Martinez is unhappy with Eden Hazard following the emergence of images showing the Real Madrid player in a nightclub shortly before Belgium’s match against the Netherlands.
Such images revealed that the winger was partying in a nightclub late at night two days before his nation’s match with the Dutch, which they ultimately lost 1-0.
Martinez has now addressed the situation, choosing not to go into detail but stating that he doesn’t want to see his player behaving in such a way again.
“Eden has an important role to play within the team, as a person but also as captain,” he told RTBF.
“We trust our players, and he was allowed to spend time with his family or with his friends. There is a very clear story behind this, but I am not going to talk about it in public.
“It will be handled internally. I would not like to see this repeated.”
