RKC Waalwijk have found defensive reinforcement in Leeuwarden after signing Bjarn Zorgdrager from Cambuur for two seasons with an option for an extra year. He will join the main group as training begins on Friday June 20.
Technical Director Bernard Schuiteman of RKC Waalwijk was clearly pleased with the arrival of 21-year-old Zorgdrager. โBy signing Bjarn, we are further expanding our possibilities in defence and ensuring a double occupation in multiple positions. We are enthusiastic about Bjarnโs qualities and potential. He fits in well with the profile we have in mind, and we believe that he can develop further in Waalwijk.โ
โI heard good stories about RKC Waalwijk, where Jordi Roelofsen is assistant coach. I already worked well with him in Leeuwarden. The way in which the development of players is worked on in Waalwijk really appeals to me. I am happy that I am making the move to RKC Waalwijk.โ
Zordragerโs signing followed that of Xander Mulder from FC Den Bosch. The 20-year-old goalkeeper joined Sander Duitsโ selection on an โamateur basisโ.
Mulder enjoyed a large part of his youth training at FC Twente/Heracles. In the summer of 2024 he joined the FC Emmenโs U21s, from where he made the switch to FC Den Bosch at the beginning of this year.

โThe transition that Xander is making now is a very nice one for his development,โ said Technical Director Bernard Schuiteman. โAlthough he joins us on an amateur basis, we see a lot of potential in him. We are working together, and it will become clear in time whether there is room for a professional contract for Xander.โ
Mulder is looking forward to the new challenge at the Mandemakers Stadium. โI am convinced that I can take important steps in my development at RKC Waalwijk. The facilities here are excellent and will help me further. I am looking forward to getting started here.โ
