Ricardo Pepi set to undergo medical before signing for PSV

US international striker Ricardo Pepi will undergo his medical tests on Tuesday before officially signing for PSV Eindhoven. Fabrizio Romano reports that a deal has been in place between PSV and Augsburg since last week. All documents will be signed before the Dutch club announces the new signing. A fee of around €10m will be paid to Augsburg for the 20-year-old striker.

Pepi spent last season on loan in the Dutch top flight with FC Groningen. Despite scoring 12 goals in 29 appearances, the 15-time US international was unable to prevent Groningen from being relegated to the Eerste Divisie for the first time in 23 years. The talented attacker was keen to leave FC Augsburg and has opted for a return to the Netherlands.

Ricardo Pepi kicked off his professional career with FC Dallas in the MLS. He scored 13 goals in 31 appearances during the 2021 campaign before making the move to Germany. At Augsburg, he played 16 times but failed to make a single goal contribution. Next season he’ll be playing under Peter Bosz at PSV. The Dutch giants are expected to announce the signing soon.
