Ricardo Pepi close to joining PSV from Augsburg despite strong interest from Feyenoord

According to Fabrizio Romano, Ricardo Pepi is close to joining PSV Eindhoven from Bundesliga side Augsburg. Feyenoord have also shown strong interest in the 20-year-old striker, but PSV are closer to an agreement.

Pepi spent last season on loan in the Eredivisie with FC Groningen, where he scored 12 times in 29 league appearances. Despite his fantastic form, Groningen were relegated to the second tier for the first time in 23 years. After a tussle between the top two clubs in the league, Pepi looks set to join PSV.

FC Augsburg were recently made aware of Pepi’s wishes to leave the German outfit this summer. Feyenoord reportedly failed to meet Augsburg’s high asking price, but PSV are now in talks with Augsburg to finalise the transfer. It’s not yet been disclosed how much Ricardo Pepi will cost PSV, but seeing as though his contract in Germany runs until mid-2026, it could be quite a high price.
