Real Valladolid show interest in Siebe Van der Heyden

As reported by Voetbalkrant, Real Valladolid are showing interest in Union St Gilloise defender Siebe Van der Heyden. The club reportedly rejected an offer from RCD Mallorca in the summer, but now it appears another Spanish side are interested in the Belgian international. The Spanish side have already taken two players from Belgium, with Selim Amallah and Cyle Larin joining during the winter window.

Van der Heyden has played 30 games in all competitions for Union, scoring once and providing one assist. He also received his first international call up last year, playing the full 90 minutes in a friendly against Burkina Faso. The former Club Brugge and Anderlecht academy player joined Union in 2019 from FC Eindhoven. He was part of the Union side that won the second division and put in a title challenge during their first year back in the top flight.

Union are currently second in the league, seven points behind leaders Genk. They lost their first game for months at the weekend when Standard Liege beat them 4-2.
