Daley Blind could well have more than one option in the next step of his career with Real Sociedad, Voetbal International reports.
Royal Antwerp’s Mark van Bommel and Marc Overmars look set to have some tough competition at the 11th hour with the Dutch international now considering his options with La Liga side looking to bolster their squad with the former Ajax player.
The 32-year-old defender finally got his contract terminated at Ajax after his second stint at the Johan Cruyff Stadium finished six-months prematurely.
It is no secret Van Bommel and Overmars are keen to sign Blind on a free transfer but they now face the hurdle of fighting for his signature with Imanol Alguacil now entering the race to sign the Oranje international.
It was expected before the World Cup that Blind’s time at Ajax was up and even had a transfer lined up before making the flight to Qatar. The former Manchester United player was on Urawa Red Diamonds radar and showed serious interest in bringing the player to Japan but the transfer fell through at the last minute.
