According to Fabrizio Romano, RB Leipzig have submitted a bid for Feyenoord’s Lutsharel Geertruida. The Dutch defender has just experienced a super season at Feyenoord. He featured 30 times in the Eredivisie as the club lifted their 16th league title. Negotiations between RB Leipzig and Feyenoord are advancing amid interest from Barcelona. The value of Leipzig’s offer is unknown.
Geertruida can play as a right-back, centre-back or defensive midfielder. Last season the 22-year-old played 17 times as a right-back and 19 times in the centre of the Feyenoord defence. Lutsharel Geertruida has also played three times for the Netherlands national time.
Recently it was reported that Barcelona were also interested in the defender. He’s fast, physical and versatile, which are attributes that will help him fit into any top European club. Both Feyenoord and RB Leipzig will be playing Champions League football next season. It’ll be down to Geertruida to decide whether he wants to make the move to Germany or not.
