Rangers appoint PSV scout as director of football recruitment

Rangers have appointed Nils Koppen as director of football recruitment. The 38-year-old held the role of head of scouting at PSV Eindhoven prior to joining Rangers, having worked at the Philips Stadion since 2018. Koppen will officially begin his role on January 2.

Nils Koppen will be responsible for recruiting players at Ibrox, and he’ll work closely with Belgian head coach Philippe Clement. The pair are already familiar with each other having previously worked together at Belgian side Genk. Speaking about the new challenge, Koppen said ‘I am delighted to be joining a club as prestigious as Rangers in a crucial role. I’m looking forward to working with the scouts to ensure we achieve our goals in the years to come.’

Rangers are off to a brilliant start to life under Philippe Clement, but consecutive draws to Aberdeen and Aris Limassol have halted their winning streak. On Sunday, Rangers face St. Mirren at Ibrox before facing Hearts. They’re still going strong in the Europa League ahead of their clash with Betis.
