Rangers and Monaco keen on Antwerp’s William Pacho

Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Rangers and Monaco are interested in signing William Pacho from Antwerp. The 21 year-old Ecuadorian central defender has been a regular starter for Antwerp this season, making 24 appearances in all competitions. Pacho impressed enough to receive a call-up to the Ecuador World Cup squad for Qatar, but failed to make an appearance.

Antwerp signed Pacho in January of 2022 from Independiente for around 2 Million Euros. The young defender has been a key part of Antwerp’s defence which is the third best in the league, conceding just 20 goals in 18 games.

Despite an impressive start to the season, Antwerp have struggled since losing against Kortrijk in October, which was their first loss of the season. Antwerp have dropped from first to third and are now 10 points behind leaders Genk.

Antwerp will face Genk in the domestic Cup Quarter final on the 11th of January, having beaten Standard Liege 4-0 in the Round of 16.
