Rafael van der Vaart hits out at โ€œhopelessโ€ Ajax captain Dusan Tadic

Rafael van der Vaart has criticised Ajax captain Dusan Tadic, saying the Serbian is โ€œhopelessly out of form.โ€

Ajax have enjoyed a strong start to the Eredivisie season, being the only team to win each of their opening five matches.

However, Tadic has played little part in that, failing to score a goal and getting just two assists, with new signing Steven Bergwijn being the sideโ€™s star man.

Indeed, former Ajax player Van der Vaart hasnโ€™t been impressed with the attacker.

โ€œTadic is really hopelessly out of form,โ€ he said on Studio Voetbal.

โ€œYou can also see it in his assumptions. He used to put his ass in and take it, now he is knocked over by players from Cambuur.โ€

With Antony leaving, Tadic has moved over to the right-hand side of attack, and Van der Vaart doesnโ€™t think he can play there.

โ€œHe can only be on the left, and maybe in the big games still as a striker. Not even on ten,โ€ he added.
