Questions raised as 777 eye Everton purchase amid Standard Liege transfer concerns

According to Mike Keegan of the Daily Mail, 777 are set to add Everton to their portfolio of football clubs. This comes just days after Ronny Deila appears to have been tempted to leave the club for Club Brugge. Deila had been keen to remain at Standard Liege, having enjoyed working with the side and making them competitive again. However, the former Celtic man has been keen to know what sort of investment the clubs owners are willing to put in to give him the chance to challenge for the title.

Reports have circulated claiming that Deila has not been given much of an indication about how much he will have to work with as he reshapes a squad in need of depth and extra quality. With the imminent purchase of Everton now pubic knowledge, how this impacts the plans 777 have for Standard will certainly be something fans are keen to know. Two players that Deila wants to keep in Phillip Zinckernagel and Steven Alzate are likely to return to their clubs as Standard can’t afford to buy them. Fans will certainly wonder how that can be possible when the owners are able to stump up a substantial amount to buy relegation threatened Everton.

777 also own Genoa and Vasco de Gama in Portugal and part of Hertha Berlin.
