QPR set to sign French goalkeeper from Gent

Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that QPR are set to announce the signing of Gent goalkeeper Paul Nardi. Nardi’s contract with the Buffaloes expires at the end of June and there were rumours that he was set to remain in Belgium and join Kortrijk. However, the London club seem to have beaten Kortrijk into singing the 30-year-old.

Nardi joined Gent back in the summer of 2022 and the former French youth international established himself as the sides number one. Injuries this season cost him the chance to add to his appearances, and he will leave Gent after making 51 appearances and keeping 19 clean sheets.

During his career, Nardi has played for a handful of French sides and two Belgian sides. He made 81 appearances for Cercle Brugge and 77 for Lorient. He also played for Stade Rennais, Monaco and AS Nancy.

Gent still have both Davy Roef and Daniel Schmidt under contract for next season. They also have highly rated 22-year-old Celestin De Schrevel on the books.
