PSV to face Sevilla in Europa League, Ajax draw Union Berlin

PSV are to go up against Sevilla in the next round of the Europa League, while Ajax will face Union Berlin.

Three Dutch clubs will play in the Europa League knockout rounds, with Feyenoord and PSV making it out of their groups and Ajax dropping down into the competition after finishing third in their Champions League group.

As they topped their group, Feyenoord go straight to the round of 16, but PSV and Ajax will have to win a play-off to join them at that stage.

The draw has now been made for those play-offs and has pitted Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side against Sevilla and Alfred Schreuder’s against Union Berlin.

While neither of those two-legged ties will be easy for the Dutch teams by any means, both will be somewhat relieved given PSV could’ve faced Barcelona or Juventus and Ajax could’ve drawn Manchester United or Roma.

The first legs will take place on February 16 and the second legs on February 23.
