PSV will be without Lucas Pérez for the time being, with the Eindhoven team announcing on Monday afternoon that the 36-year-old Spaniard is suffering from a bout of active tuberculosis.
Due to his illness, Pérez is temporarily absent from PSV. While reports are uncertain, it may even be the end of the season for the attacker. PSV have announced that no other players have been infected yet. Either way, the second-place Eredivisie side will follow the protocols provided by the GGD (Public Health Service).
PSV picked up Pérez on a free transfer at the end of February to give coach Peter Bosz more options in attack. However, since then, the so-far goalless striker has played just three matches for the Eindhoven club, coming on as a substitute twice in an Eredivisie match and appearing for eight minutes in a cup match.
With Pérez and Ricardo Pepi, PSV are now missing two centre forwards. Luuk de Jong returns as the first choice in that position.
