PSV sign Jerdy Schouten from Bologna on a five-year deal

PSV Eindhoven have announced the signing of Jerdy Schouten from Bologna. The 26-year-old midfielder has signed a five-year deal at the Philips Stadion following four successful seasons in Italy. The Dutchman will take part in his first training session tomorrow as PSV prepare for their Champions League play-off clash against Rangers.

Jerdy Schouten kicked off his career with ADO Den Haag. The midfielder spent his entire youth career with Den Haag, but only went on to feature three times for the first team. In 2017 he transferred to Telstar where he made 39 appearances in the Eerste Divisie before moving to Excelsior, where he spent one season.

A move to Bologna followed in the summer of 2019, where Schouten quickly established himself as a crucial first-team player. In total, he played 109 times for the Serie A side that finished in ninth place last season. This could turn out to be a brilliant bit of business from PSV. Jerdy Schouten has become Peter Bosz’s fourth summer signing and he’ll be available to play against Rangers next week.
