PSV show interest in Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sánchez

PSV are showing interest in Tottenham defender Davinson Sánchez, Eindhovens Dagblad reports. The Colombian is allowed to leave the Premier League club this summer and several sides are showing interest in the former Ajax centre-back. A move to PSV seems unlikely, but the Eredivisie club are showing concrete interest in the 27-year-old.

PSV’s head coach, Peter Bosz previously worked with Sánchez at Ajax during the 16/17 campaign. That season, Ajax made it all the way to the final of the Europa League, before losing 2-0 to Manchester United. Now, Peter Bosz is reportedly looking to reunite with Davinson Sánchez.

Galatasaray and Spartak Moscow are two other clubs confirmed to be showing serious interest in Sánchez. The Turkish Süper Lig champions have already made a bid worth around €9m for the defender. PSV have already invested a lot this summer, having made the signings of Noa Lang from Club Brugge and Ricardo Pepi from Augsburg. Before work can be done on the arrival of Sánchez, a player like Ibrahim Sangaré would first need to be sold.

At Spurs, Sánchez never managed to live up to expectations. The North London club paid Ajax a fee of €42m for the 54-time Colombian international. In total, he’s featured 205 times for Tottenham since signing in the summer of 2017. Last season, his Premier League game time was reduced to just 18 appearances.

Tottenham want to sell the defender, and at the same time, they’re heavily linked with VfL Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven and Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba. A move to PSV is possible for Sánchez, but the side that finished second in the Eredivisie last season will face tough competition.
