PSV recruit two Brazilian talents from partner club Cruzeiro EC

PSV have announced that two youth players from Brazil’s Cruzeiro EC have joined the club on trial in the PSV Academy. Seventeen-year-old Rhuan Gabriel and sixteen-year-old Ruan Índio will link up with the Under 17’s to ‘get used to the European football climate.’

Last October PSV announced a partnership with Brazilian Serie A side Cruzeiro EC. According to the Dutch giants, the goal of the partnership is to ‘strengthen each other’s position in world football in the field of scouting, education and training methodology.’ PSV also have partnerships with Chivas Guadalajara (Mexico), Austin FC (USA) and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors (South Korea).

PSV’s head of youth training, Ernest Fabre said ‘It is a valuable addition to the training programme. This way they are prepared for a possible European adventure. In return, PSV will get the chance to see Cruzeiro’s biggest talents up close.’ A coach from Cruzeiro will also temporarily join the pair at PSV. In the past, former PSV players Ronaldo Nazário and Heurelho Gomes played at Cruzeiro. Ronaldo went on to be one the deadliest goal scorers in football, and Heurelho Gomes went on to play in the Premier League for Tottenham and Watford.
