PSV not willing to sell Cody Gakpo for €30m

Contrary to some reports, PSV are not willing to sell Cody Gakpo for as little as €30m.

Gakpo ended up staying at the club in the summer, turning down Southampton and Leeds, and has been performing better than ever since then.

In 22 matches, the Dutchman has 13 goals and 16 assists to his name, being the Eredivisie’s top scorer and the player with the most assists to his name.

With him set to be in the Netherlands’ starting XI at the World Cup too, it’s looking more and more likely that some of Europe’s biggest clubs will try to sign him in January, and some reports have suggested that, for financial reasons, his club will let him go for €30m.

However, Rik Elfrink of the Eindhovens Dagblad has now stated that such claims “can go straight in the paper shredder” and aren’t true.

According to the journalist, the asking price of Gakpo is only going up and could be as much as €50m by the new year.
