PSV make history in the Eredivisie after continuing unbeaten start to the season

PSV Eindhoven won their twelfth victory in a row against PEC Zwolle at the Philips Stadion on Sunday afternoon, continuing their unbeaten start to the Eredivisie campaign. PSV managed to come away from the game winning 4-0 and they are the first team in the Netherlands to have scored more than three goals in ten consecutive Eredivisie matches, after twelve matches PSV have scored 45 goals, an average of just under 4 goals a game.

Hirving Lozano gave the hosts the perfect start as he scored after only five minutes following an assist from Guus Til. Til was then on the scoresheet himself twenty minutes later and saw the league leaders go into the break 2-0 to the good. PSV top scorer, Luuk de Jong scored his tenth goal of the season following an assist from Johan Bakayoko. Bakayoko was then substituted for fellow midfielder Malik Tilman in the 70th minute and merely six minutes later Tilman scored the fourth and final goal for the home side.

PSV’s start to the season has been unprecedented, they have always been a team that has the ability to challenge for the Eredivisie but this level of domination has not been seen by this side before. They will hope to come back from the international break with no injuries and will be able to kick on into the winter with the aim of continuing their unbeaten start to the season. PSV travel to FC Twente in their first game back after the break.
