PSV leave Ki-Jana Hoever out of Champions League squad, unhappy with Wolves loanee

Ki-Jana Hoever has been left out of PSV’s squad for their Champions League play-off, with the Dutch club “dissatisfied” with his development.

Hoever joined PSV this summer on a season-long loan and was put straight into the first team for the Johan Cruijff Schaal against Ajax.

He failed to impress in that match though and has since lost his place in the starting XI to Phillipp Mwene, not coming off the bench in either of the two Champions League play-off legs against Monaco.

Now, he has been left out of the squad altogether for the match with Rangers, and the Eindhovens Dagblad has reported that’s because the club simply aren’t happy with his current “sporting development.”

His omission suggests that Ruud van Nistelrooy may play Jordan Teze at right-back in the match with Andre Ramalho returning in the centre of defence now he’s fit again.

Hoever will instead play for Jong PSV against Dordrecht on Monday night.
