PSV Eindhoven looking to bring Georginio Wijnaldum back to the club this summer amid uncertainty surrounding his future at PSG

PSV Eindhoven want to bring Georginio Wijnaldum back to the club this summer, according to the Eindhovens Dagblad. The midfielder left PSV eight years ago to play for Newcastle United in the Premier League. This was followed by a move to Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain. Last season the French champions loaned Wijnaldum to AS Roma, where he featured 23 times in all competitions.

Wijnaldum has returned to PSG, but there’s uncertainty surrounding the 32-year-olds future at the club. PSV hope to bring the 88-time Netherlands international back to the Philips Stadion this summer as they plan to strengthen the squad under new head coach Peter Bosz.

Georginio Wijnaldum’s previous spell at PSV saw him play 154 matches between 2011 and 2015. He scored 56 goals and provided 24 assists. He won the KNVB Cup, the Dutch Super Cup and the Eredivisie title during his time in Eindhoven. Eight years later, it looks like a return to the club could be on the cards for Wijnaldum.
