PSV are adamant that there’s no clause in Xavi Simons’ contract that would allow PSG to bring him back to the club if they wished to.
The Dutch club signed Simons on a free transfer this summer and he has been a revelation in his home country since then, getting seven goals and two assists in 10 games.
This form has excited PSG fans given it has been reported that the French club can activate a buy-back clause to bring him back to Paris.
However, according to Voetbal International journalist Marco Timmer, Simons’ new team say that’s not true and no such clause exists.
“At PSV they are very firm in that: there is no clause for PSG that means they can buy him back,” he said on Voetbal Primeur’s Done Deal podcast.
“He has come transfer free, but in France people claim that they still have a grip on Simons.
“At PSV they say: ‘what nonsense, that is not true.'”
