Ismael Saibari was not part of PSV’s matchday squad for the Champions League clash against Arsenal. The midfielder was not injured but was reportedly serving a disciplinary punishment for poor timekeeping.
Saibari was in the starting line-up in the first leg ( 1-7 ), but was not even on the bench at the Emirates Stadium (2-2). The Moroccan international arrived too late and not for the first time, as Peter Bosz explained at the press conference:
“Not for the first time, not even for the fifth time. That’s where it ends. I was done with it and left him in the hotel.”
The PSV coach indicated that Saibari would actually play. That did not happen. Jerdy Schouten, Guus Til and Isaac Babadi formed the Eindhoven midfield in London.
“We have several appointments on one day and then he does not show up. He has now seen a wonderful match pass him by. Then you hope that he learns from it.”
Saibari will likely be a part of the Eredivisie selection that takes RKC Waalwijk away from home on Saturday.
