PSG target Johan Bakayoko set to replace Jeremy Doku in Belgian squad

As reported by AD, PSV teenager Johan Bakayoko is set to replace the injured Jeremy Doku in the Belgian national team squad for the upcoming international break. Doku was called up despite his injury and it was unlikely that he would be able to feature for Domenico Tedesco in his first competitive matches. 19-year-old Bakayoko had been with the Red Devils U23 side for the upcoming European qualifiers, but will now be part of the first team instead.

During the winter window PSV rejected a move for Bakayoko from PSG. The teenager has scored five goals and provided three assists for Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s side in 16 league games. Bakayoko has beaten the likes of Mike Tresor of Genk, who currently leads the Belgian league in assists, to a call up.

Tedesco’s first game in charge will be against Sweden on Friday, before a mouthwatering clash with Germany in a friendly on the 28th of March.
