PSG attempting to agree personal terms with Xavi Simons after triggering the PSV midfielder’s €6m buy-back clause

According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG are pushing to agree personal terms with Xavi Simons. On Wednesday it was confirmed that the French champions had triggered the €6m buy-back clause to re-sign Simons. However, the move depends entirely on the PSV midfielder’s final decision. The 20-year-old can either remain at the Philips Stadion or return to the Parc des Princes.

The Dutch international’s buy-back clause expires on the 31st of July. Simons has until then to decide whether he wants to make a return to the French capital or not. During his previous spell at PSG Simons struggled for opportunities. He featured just 11 times for the first team, providing one assist.

At PSV last season, Simons had the eyes of the world on him. The former Barcelona academy player finished the season as the Eredivisie’s joint-top scorer with 19 goals and he provided nine assists in 34 appearances as PSV finished in second place.
